General
What is Special Ed Consulting?
It’s a service that helps families and caregivers navigate the special education system—everything from understanding evaluation reports to developing effective IEPs and action plans.
What is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a structured, evidence-based approach that uses principles of learning and behavior to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviors. In practice, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or trained therapist breaks skills down into small, measurable steps, provides prompts and reinforcement, and systematically tracks progress. ABA is most commonly used for children with autism spectrum disorder to build communication, social, and daily-living skills.
What is OT Therapy?
Occupational Therapy (OT) helps children develop the fine-motor, sensory-processing, and self-care skills they need to participate fully at home, school, and in the community. An occupational therapist evaluates your child’s ability to perform tasks like handwriting, dressing, eating, and playground play, then creates individualized activities—like hand-strengthening games or sensory-integration exercises—to build those skills in a fun, engaging way.
Does my child need Speech Services?
Children may benefit from speech services if they:
Have difficulty pronouncing sounds clearly or are hard to understand
Struggle to put words together into sentences appropriate for their age
Are behind on understanding or using language (following directions, answering questions)
Show signs of stuttering or voice quality issues
Have social-communication challenges, such as difficulty taking turns in conversation or understanding nonverbal cues
A speech-language pathologist can perform an assessment and recommend therapy if any of these areas are delayed.
Who do you work with?
We partner with parents, guardians, and educators of children with developmental, learning, or behavioral challenges (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia).
Do you provide therapy services?
No, we do not offer therapy (ABA, OT, speech). Instead, we guide you toward the right services, school supports, and community resources.
Services & Process
What services do you offer?
Observations & Assessments: In-home environment or virtual to identify strengths/needs
IEP Guidance: Help understanding, reviewing, and advocating for your child’s IEP
In-Home Action Plans: Strategies you can use outside school for consistency
Seminars & Workshops: Group trainings on rights, strategies, and collaboration
Resource Library: Curated tools, handouts, and referrals
Introductory Consult: 30-minute session to define next steps
How does an initial consultation work?
We start with a 30-minute call (virtual or in-person) to review your child’s history, current challenges, and your goals. From there we recommend a customized plan of action.
Can you attend school meetings or IEP meetings with me?
This question requires a case-by-case answer. In most cases, no, but we do provide ample preparation and role-playing to ensure readiness.
Qualifications & Approach
What are your credentials?
Our lead consultant holds a Master’s in Autism Spectrum Disorders and 12+ years of experience in special education. We never practice therapy; we strictly guide and advocate.
What is your approach
We take a collaborative, family-centered coaching approach rather than providing direct therapy. After an initial consult, we:
Assess strengths and needs via records review, observations, and caregiver interviews.
Co-design goals with you—both for school (IEP objectives) and home (action plans).
Provide clear strategies and tools—scripts for meetings, visual supports, behavior-chart templates, etc.
Coach and empower you and your team (parents, teachers, caregivers) through live sessions and follow-up check-ins.
Adjust plans as progress is made, ensuring consistency across school and home environments.
How do you ensure confidentiality?
We follow strict privacy protocols, sign non-disclosure agreements if requested, and never share your child’s information without your explicit consent. By working with us you agree to our Privacy Policy | Terms Of Service | Limited Liability
Costs & Scheduling
What do your services cost?

How do I book an appointment?
Simply fill out our Contact Form or call us. We’ll send you an online scheduler link to choose a convenient time.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling to avoid a 50% late-cancel fee.
School & Legal
What is an IEP and why is it important?
An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a legally binding plan that outlines your child’s special-education goals, accommodations, and services. It ensures your child gets tailored support in school.
How do I know if my child qualifies for special education?
ligibility is determined via a school-district evaluation across areas like cognition, communication, behavior, and academic performance. We can guide you through requesting and understanding that evaluation.
What’s the difference between an IEP and a 504 plan?
A 504 plan provides accommodations under civil rights law (Section 504) for students with disabilities, but it does not include specialized instruction. An IEP under IDEA guarantees both accommodations and specialized instruction.
Can I dispute my child’s IEP if I disagree with the school’s recommendations?
Yes—you have the right to mediation, due-process hearings, and to bring in advocates. We can coach you through each step of the dispute resolution process.
At-Home Strategies
What is an in-home action plan?
It’s a set of evidence-based strategies you can implement at home to reinforce school-based goals—things like behavior charts, communication supports, and routines.
Why is a In-Home Action plan important?
An in-home action plan:
Bridges school and home by aligning strategies used in school IEPs with daily routines at home
Promotes consistency, which research shows accelerates skill acquisition and reduces problem behaviors
Empowers caregivers with concrete, step-by-step tools (visual schedules, reinforcement systems) so you feel confident implementing supports
Fosters generalization, ensuring your child uses new skills across settings (not just in therapy or the classroom)
Tracks progress with simple data-collection methods, so you can celebrate successes and adjust strategies quickly if something isn’t working.
How do I involve siblings or other family members in my child’s plan?
We provide family-wide coaching, mini-workshops, and easy-to-use guides so everyone in your household can stay consistent.
Workshops & Resources
What topics do your seminars cover?
Examples include “Navigating Your First IEP Meeting,” “Behavior Support Basics,” and “Transitioning to Middle/High School.”
Are workshops virtual or in person?
Both—we host monthly live webinars and quarterly in-person events (location permitting).
Liability & Privacy
What if my child doesn’t improve after working with you?
While we can’t guarantee outcomes, we do guarantee clear, actionable plans and your full money-back if you’re unsatisfied after your first session.
How do you protect against data breaches?
We use encrypted cloud storage, routine security audits, and require all team members to sign confidentiality agreements. Please see our Privacy Policy | Terms Of Service | Limited Liability
